Line Equipment Technician

The Line Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our clients manufacturing line. This role primarily focuses on equipment expertise while also providing support for processes within the manufacturing area. The technician serves as a constant presence, offering technical solutions to equipment issues and maintaining a continuous state of operation. Responsibilities include ownership of equipment downtime metrics and product yields, with a focus on achieving and maintaining target metrics through effective monitoring, evaluation, and analysis of processes and equipment to optimize product output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for ensuring the technical performance and reliability of equipment, aiming for zero downtime due to equipment faults through proactive management.
  • Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement, working systematically towards this goal.
  • Continuously assess equipment and process inputs and outputs to ensure optimal visual and functional product performance, taking preemptive action to prevent downtime or yield issues.
  • Complete Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS) on time and enhance them when deficiencies are identified to ensure equipment operates optimally.
  • Identify the need for jigs/fixtures to improve workstation efficiency or enhance yield and initiate the approval process with supporting data.
  • Ensure tooling, including mandrels and trim fixtures, is readily available for the production line and is in optimal working condition.
  • Establish and maintain a robust Kanban system for consumable equipment spares in the Central Equipment Room (CER) to minimize downtime.
  • Demonstrate full competence in manufacturing products through all work steps and in identifying Accept and Reject samples, understanding their impact on product use and efficacy.
  • Continuously review the manufacturing process for any improper application of work methods and equipment settings.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with the Line Lead and Line Support Technician regarding equipment and process issues, presenting data-driven resolution plans.
  • Support the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date documentation for LHRs (Line History Records), MPIs (Manufacturing Process Instructions), drawings, and PM (Preventive Maintenance) documentation.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Requires a Diploma/Degree in Engineering or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical/Mechatronics or Automation Engineering.
  • Industrial experience in a similar field is preferred, with a strong background in automated equipment maintenance.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex machine faults involving electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a process and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
