Associate Director of Procurement – Biologics Manufacturing

Initial 11 Month Contract

An exceptional opportunity awaits for a highly skilled individual to join my Client as the Associate Director of Procurement – Biologics Manufacturing in Swords, Dublin. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing and executing strategic projects, aligning with site operating objectives to establish secure procedures and processes supporting our growth plans. Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing: Lead the Sourcing Management Process (SMP) and project execution.
• Negotiation Skills: Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills.
• Supply Risk Management: Effectively identify and mitigate supply risks through project execution.
• Supplier Performance Improvement: Oversee the improvement of supplier performance.
• Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify and manage cost reduction initiatives.
• Supplier Diversity Development: Drive initiatives for supplier diversity.
• Working Capital Improvement: Implement strategies to improve working capital.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers.
• Project Management: Showcase strong project management capabilities.
• New Product Introduction: Manage end-to-end processes for new product introductions.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Science, Supply Chain, or a related field; potentially MBA or advanced degree.
• Extensive professional expertise in procurement and project management within biopharmaceutical manufacturing (5+ years).
• Experience working with senior leaders (3-5 years) in large-scale organizational change initiatives.
• Ideally, experience in the biologics manufacturing environment with a proven track record in project management and biologics operations scale-up.
• Competence in influencing sourcing decisions during the early design phase of new product introductions, particularly in vaccines and biologics operations.
• Ability to develop and implement accelerated sourcing strategies for rapid and innovative project execution in a commercial environment.
• Competent provider of frontline procurement expertise and coaching to operational teams.
• Knowledge and experience of Single Use Technologies and Complex Biologics Ingredients essential for Large Molecules Sterile Manufacturing.
