Security Project Manager

My leading medical device client based in Galway are looking for a Project Manager to oversee the security systems projects globally.

The Security Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of security system projects on a global scale. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, defining project scope, establishing timelines, managing budgets, and ensuring that the implementation of security solutions aligns with industry standards and client specifications. Effective communication, risk management, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.


  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the security industry and relevant technological solutions.
  • Define project scope, timelines, allocate resources, assess risks, and implement effective security mitigation strategies.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with key stakeholders, functional partners, and internal customers globally, considering various cultures, regions, and roles.
  • Manage project team(s) efficiently, ensuring cross-functional communication and providing feedback on team and individual performance to functional managers.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent global projects, from initiation to completion, coordinating all necessary activities for timely delivery.
  • Assist installation teams in project completion, including programming, resource coordination, and testing/commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with BSC policies, standards, and requirements.
  • Develop high-level plans, communications, and schedules to facilitate task prioritization and workload adjustments.
  • Attend construction meetings as necessary to support the smooth progress of installations in new construction or renovation projects.
  • Evaluate project risks and implement effective risk response activities to manage uncertainties.
  • Delegate and manage tasks among team members to drive project deliverables and minimize risk.
  • Troubleshoot project issues, involving appropriate management and resources as needed to mitigate impacts.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external personnel globally, utilizing various communication channels such as cloud, chat, and video conferencing solutions.
  • Lead phase and business reviews, documenting project meeting minutes, issues log, decision logs, metrics, and other key communications.
  • Ensure successful closeout and go-live processes, verifying that requirements are met and facilitating user acceptance testing and hand-over procedures.


  • NFQ Level 8 (240 Credits) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop job processes and best practices.
  • Preferred certifications: PSP from ASIS International or PMP from the Project Management Institute.
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on project requirements.
  • Proficiency in virtual communication using cloud, chat, and video conferencing solutions.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in the security industry.
  • Background in security system design or security system administration.
  • Factory certifications in relevant technology platforms (LenelS2, Milestone, etc.).
  • Understanding of network connectivity and software configuration troubleshooting.
  • High skill level in interpreting blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
