Responsibilities include:
  • Introducing new tools into the process, including conducting trials both externally and internally, setting up tools, running qualification tests, and transitioning to production.
  • Assisting in the design and troubleshooting of new systems, tools, and automation processes.
  • Completing validation reports such as Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).
  • Conducting product validations and creating comprehensive process window protocols and reports.
  • Conducting designed experiments to optimize processes, increase yields, and improve efficiency by reducing cycle times and streamlining setups.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and toolmakers.
  • Managing Moulding Process Systems, including setting sheets, process control, deviation management, and maintaining control of setting sheets.
  • Providing troubleshooting support to Team Leaders and offering technical guidance to moulding technicians and operators.
  • Collaborating daily with the tool room, maintenance, production, and quality departments.
  • Developing and implementing maintenance programs for moulding and related equipment.
  • Ensuring a clean and safe work environment and adhering to plant safety and health regulations.
  • Being mindful of environmental impacts related to work activities and striving to minimize non-conformance.
  • Contributing to energy conservation efforts and actively participating in the continual improvement of occupational health and safety, environmental, and energy management systems.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Polymer or Mechanical engineering or equivalent with 2-3 years hands on experience in a busy moulding manufacturing environment.
  • A knowledge of Engineering and Quality systems.
  • A demonstrated ability to solve problems with innovative and cost effective solutions.
  • A demonstrated ability to follow structured problem solving methodology.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Ability to lead and manage projects, project teams and multi-project portfolios.
  • Ability to make and implement decisions.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a highly technical, challenging and changing environment.
  • Working knowledge of measurement systems.
  • Experience in cleanroom procedures and medical moulding would be an advantage, but not necessary.
  • Familiar with process set up and validation, including performing process window/repeatability studies, DOE’s, IQ,OQ,PQ etc.
