Senior Supply Chain Manager Location Galway Job Overview As the Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will join as a pivotal figure within my clients Management Team, you'll spearhead the evolution, execution, and continuous enhancement of the supply chain system to reach unparalleled excellence. Your domain will encompass procurement, strategic production planning, efficient distribution strategies, and meticulous inventory oversight. All of which are critical components for their success. Reporting directly to the Site Plant Manager, this role promises an exhilarating journey of steering their supply chain operations towards unprecedented heights

Experience from a highly regulated manufacturing environment is required for this role. Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy aligned to overall business strategy.
  • Develop and manage the Materials Planning function for materials required by manufacturing, Prototyping, and NPD to world class standard.
  • Implement integrated processes among Commercial, Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, and outside suppliers to execute an S&OP and replenishment process effectively.
  • Maintain an inventory management strategy optimising SAP ERP system to manage total-plant inventory, ensure inventory accuracy & implement planning systems / processes.
  • Work closely with Sales and Commercial on new opportunities to assess impact on inventory and free cash before pricing and commercial terms are agreed.
  • Drive continuous improvement through formal project management techniques in all areas of Supply Chain, prioritising projects and allocate resources effectively.
  • Determine the optimal KPIs to drive the business forward, develop appropriate measurement methods and use KPIs to drive a results-orientated culture.
  • As part of the management team, determine and drive necessary changes in Supply Chain to support the strategic objectives of the organisation.
  • Communicate supply chain objectives clearly to other functions / departments to ensure cross function/department collaboration.
  • Working with the Global Procurement team, optimize vendor selection, purchasing costs and terms to assure the provision of raw materials and services that guarantee continuity in the production process while optimizing free cash. Mitigate supply risks through appropriate business continuity strategies.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with vendors.
  • Working with the Global Trade compliance team, ensure full compliance with all import and export requirements, including duties, tariffs and restrictions.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or relevant field.
  • 7+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Management
  • 5 – 8 years people management experience, ideally at leadership level
  • Demonstrated ability of implementing world class Supply Chain systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing multi-functional business processes – must have lead change initiatives.
  • Experience of ERP System (ideally SAP) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to drive culture change and influence across all levels within the organisation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
