NPI Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Limerick 

The primary purpose of this position is to lead process development, design verification and process validation activities for new products and/or post market product improvements.

Reporting to:     Manufacturing Engineering Manager (NPI)

Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a process lead and/or key team member in projects.
  • Lead process development activities.
  • Source and implement new equipment / technologies.
  • Lead process validation activities, define scope, author protocols, execute IQ, OQ, PQ, TMV & PPQ validations, author reports.
  • Lead risk management activities for assigned projects.
  • Ensure that NPI activities are carried out according to company operating procedures, and that a high level of productivity and quality is achieved and maintained.
  • Ensure that all activities carried out are compliant with Cook Medical quality system requirements.
  • Work closely with the Toolroom to develop jigs, fixtures and tooling to improve production efficiencies.
  • Define maintenance and calibration requirements for manufacturing equipment in accordance with Cook Medical’s quality system.
  • Prepare, review and approve change requests and other quality system documentation.
  • Plan and execute projects to ensure that project timelines, quality and cost targets are met.
  • Ensure that Cook’s Code of Conduct is considered in all business matters carried out on Cook’s behalf.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Level 8 Engineering qualification and relevant manufacturing experience (5 + years medical devices preferred).
  • Lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement certification and demonstrated experience advantageous.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated process validation experience (vision systems preferred)
  • Knowledge of Agile PLM, FMEA an advantage.
  • Team player with ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Highly motivated individual, self-starter with a passion for excellence.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Willingness and availability to travel on company business.
