Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer II - Balloon Forming Extrusion

Reporting to: Engineering Supervisor

Location: Galway City

As they continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements for the manufacturing process.
Quality: Drive engineering solutions to uphold Right First-Time principles, improve yield, reduce complaints, and support Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
Continuous Improvement: Take ownership of the manufacturing process, collaborate with key stakeholders, and utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities.
Service: Cultivate a culture of Exceptional Customer Experience (ECE) by consistently meeting or exceeding project commitments for both internal and external customers.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with the Prototyping/New Product Development (NPD) Group to support the introduction of new parts.
Overall Equipment Performance (OEE) Management: Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques to optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
Preventative Maintenance: Ensure the effectiveness of equipment preventative maintenance procedures and compliance with maintenance programs.
New Equipment Introduction: Oversee the introduction of new equipment, including validation processes and process development. Quality and Technical Issue Resolution: Address quality and technical issues promptly to minimize impact on product supply, supporting CAPAs, Non-Conformances (NCs), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), and audit preparation activities.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Compliance: Develop and manage SOPs and manufacturing standards in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Management: Manage CAPEX for new and replacement equipment, evaluating cost-benefit and competitive advantage of new technologies.
External Relationships: Manage relationships with key technology providers to stay abreast of industry advancements.
Workload Management: Effectively manage a variable workload to meet operational requirements.

Candidate Desired Profiles:

Engineering degree in Polymer Technologies or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar engineering role. Medical device experience preferred.
Practical understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and statistics.
Injection moulding experience required.
Proficiency in Minitab software preferred.
SolidWorks/AutoCAD skills advantageous.
Results-oriented with excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of ISO and FDA compliance.
