Manufacturing Engineer II

Medical device company seeks a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join their esteemed Metals Business Unit 1 team based in Galway, Ireland. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in providing engineering assistance to our manufacturing operations while spearheading the advancement of both existing and emerging process technologies within our business unit. Our collaborative efforts aim to pioneer innovative solutions, ensuring the production of superior and safer medical devices for our clients, medical professionals, and patients alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer crucial manufacturing line support to our production processes.
  • Lead Improvement Projects aimed at enhancing yield, efficiency, and capacity.
  • Take charge of projects focused on the introduction and validation of new equipment and processes.
  • Identify and implement effective solutions to address quality and technical challenges.
  • Enhance manufacturing processes by meticulously analyzing product requirements, researching, designing, adjusting, and testing manufacturing methodologies and equipment, in addition to collaborating with equipment suppliers.
  • Oversee overall equipment performance (OEE) through the adept utilization of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and techniques.
  • Explore and evaluate new process technologies to ascertain potential competitive advantages and cost benefits associated with their integration.
  • Prepare comprehensive product and process reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing pertinent information and trends.
  • Regularly update and maintain manufacturing procedures as needed.
  • Implement robust equipment maintenance procedures for critical machinery.
  • Exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including but not limited to yield, throughput, and productivity targets.
  • Ensure strict adherence to high-quality compliance standards and Health & Safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a comparable role, preferably within the Medical Devices industry.
  • Proven track record in project management, demonstrating adeptness in planning, organizing, and managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with ISO and FDA compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks/AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in equipment and process qualification.
  • Working knowledge of Minitab software is advantageous.
