EHS Specialist - Industrial Hygiene and EHS Data Management 

Position Summary: Supports the design, implementation, maintenance, and review of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and industry requirements. Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) and advisor to all teams on-site in relation to EHS matters, with particular emphasis on Industrial Hygiene and corporate EHS Software Management systems and data management. 

General Scope of Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the Industrial Hygiene program and act as the site SME. 
    • Develop the annual Occupational Hygiene monitoring plan. 
    • Conduct Occupational Hygiene Risk Assessments. 
    • Work with consultants to complete occupational hygiene monitoring and coordinate related activities. 
    • Oversee the approval of new chemical introductions and manage the SDS database to ensure accuracy for chemicals used on-site. 
    • Conduct noise monitoring and maintain the noise monitoring program. 
    • Liaise with Global Health in the review and specification of SEG’s. 
  • Maintain the REACH Register for the site and ensure timely registration of new chemicals as required. 
  • Provide weekly metrics reports for the site and ensure on-time submission of monthly reports to Corporate EHS. 
  • Support the preparation of presentations for the EHS Management Reviews. 
  • Provide and develop Chemical Awareness, Manual Handling, EHS Induction Training, and other safety training as required. 
  • Provide training on the EHS Software System to users and act as the site SME. 
  • Perform periodic walkdowns, audits, and program reviews to ensure compliance with safety and environmental permits, plans, policies, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Support functions for incident and accident investigations and close out CAPAs. 
  • Assist in the preparation, implementation, and review of EHS procedures and other EHS documents appropriate to the scope of site activities and in compliance with company requirements. 
  • Provide technical support for the site risk assessment/JSA program and assist in implementing appropriate control measures for identified risks. 

Key Competencies Required: 

  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of EHS software management systems. 
  • Knowledge of chemicals and chemical safety. 
  • Experience with noise monitoring and measurement.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Previous experience working to ISO14001 and ISO45001 international standards, preferably in the MedTech or related environment. 
  • A relevant third-level qualification in Science, Engineering, or EHS, with at least 5 years’ experience in the EHS field, ideally in the MedTech or Pharma industry. 
  • Good overall knowledge of legal requirements and best practices in Environment, Health, and Safety. 
  • Strong written and communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in creating dashboards, working in Excel and PowerPoint, tracking and trending KPIs, and assembling information into clear reports. 
  • Occupational Hygiene experience, including qualification and practical experience in noise monitoring. 


  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. 
  • Manual Handling Trainer.
