Global Senior Automation Engineer

Role Overview:
- Position: Senior Automation Engineer for a leading multinational medical device manufacturer in Dublin.
- Department: Global Engineering.
- Responsibilities: Support manufacturing and contribute to manufacturing strategy development. Specify, purchase, and manage new manufacturing solutions for new product introductions and operational efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:
- Lead new equipment process and product introduction projects.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies.
- Establish and manage project teams, set priorities, and report progress.

Customer and Supplier Relationships:
- Build relationships with customers and equipment suppliers.
- Ensure equipment suppliers meet specifications, costs, and timelines.

Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure new equipment meets regulatory requirements.
- Compliance with health and safety regulations.

Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Work with various departments to meet their requirements for new processes.
- Introduce new manufacturing methods and opportunities.

Training and Development:
- Train and develop personnel on new processes or systems.
- Lead and coach a high-performing team to meet business goals.
- Develop cross-training programs to increase resource flexibility.

Technical Expertise:
- Serve as a technical expert in automated manufacturing processes.
- Ensure procedures and systems facilitate new process and equipment introductions.

Compliance:
- Adhere to environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Comply with company policies and corporate Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications:

Education:
- Minimum NFQ Level 7 Degree in Engineering (preferably in Automation, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering).

Experience:
- At least 5 years in engineering.
- Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley or Siemens) and vision control systems (Cognex).
- High-level knowledge of Barcode Scanning, RFID, and Industrial Networks (Ethernet IP, Control Net, Profibus).
- Knowledge of machine control systems, MES, Batch Manufacturing, and SQL databases.
- Experience in manufacturing automation, machine design, and validation processes.
- Customer-facing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of EU-GMP.
- Experience in medical, packaging, or technological industries.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and serialization exposure.
- Proficiency in MS Project and project management certification (e.g., PMP).
- Lean Sigma certification.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
