About the Role:
Our client, a leading innovator in the medical device industry, is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving efficiency and quality in manufacturing processes. You will play a pivotal role in optimising production, supporting technicians, and ensuring that equipment and processes meet the highest standards of performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and Troubleshoot: Provide daily support to line technicians and product builders, focusing on troubleshooting equipment and process-related issues. Deliver training to line technicians as needed.
  • Process Optimisation: Oversee the manufacturing process, assess process risks, and implement mitigations to enhance yields and overall process efficiency.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with equipment vendors to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Problem-Solving Leadership: Foster a strong problem-solving culture by utilising standard methodologies such as DMAIC and Six Sigma.
  • Process Development: Develop and adhere to a process development plan for line equipment.
  • Equipment Oversight: Oversee all line equipment, ensuring maintenance and calibration schedules are maintained and up to date.
  • Qualifications Protocols: Execute Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) protocols for laboratory and production equipment.
  • Project Management: Communicate and update project activities using established project management methodologies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Industry Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or process development role within a medical device company.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with processes such as lyophilisation, mixing, and dispensing is an advantage.
  • Standards and Compliance: Proven experience with Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
  • Material Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of engineering materials used in medical device manufacturing, including hydrogels, metals, and polymers.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with experience in DMAIC or similar tools.
  • Professional Traits: Organised, innovative, and demonstrates a strong work ethic in both independent and team-based projects.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Hands-On Expertise: Highly proficient in hands-on and technical work.
