Reliability Engineer
Job Type: Contract
Location: Westport, Mayo, Ireland.

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives to minimise risks related to equipment and utility issues on-site. The role ensures compliance with engineering standards and supports the Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) by optimising critical equipment assets and driving ongoing improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Integrate the Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) into company culture.
Develop programs and procedures for compliant maintenance activities.
Monitor and optimize equipment and system performance.
Analyze and improve key MEP KPIs (e.g., asset utilisation, maintenance costs).
Prevent and reduce system failures using best practices and technologies.
Implement predictive maintenance and optimize preventive measures.
Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA), RCM, FMEA, FTA, and PM optimisation.
Train employees on reliability processes and supervisor impact on equipment.
Review work orders and promote ongoing preventive maintenance.
Analyze failure history to develop long-term solutions.
Ensure reliability and maintainability specifications for new equipment.
Conduct internal and external audits, ensuring safety and compliance.
Utilise Maximo and manage the Engineering Change Control process.
Collaborate and share expertise within the team.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Third-level qualification in Engineering or relevant discipline, or Trade qualification with 6+ years of experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, with strong IT skills (Maximo preferred).
- Proven problem-solving skills under pressure and innovative thinking.
- Strong attention to detail, with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work autonomously and adhere to "Right First Time" principles.
- Knowledge of cGMP, FDA/HPRA regulations, and regulatory compliance
- Leadership skills for managing projects, teams, and cost improvements.
