Associate Buyer Planner

Associate Buyer/Planner

This role is looking for someone to have a mix of planning and buying. Also managing the delivery of finished products as per the production schedule.

Good understanding of Capacity Planning, Production leveling and identifying and managing production constraints.

As an integral part of the Supply Chain team, this person will work directly with Suppliers, Operations, Finance and Engineering to ensure excellent customer service levels.

Support Senior Planner / Buyer on production schedule and positioning raw materials and resources for success delivery of the plan.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create, review and distribute the operations schedules to support Monthly Production Schedule
  • Assist in development of an achievable MPS for assigned products, while measuring and reporting performance to schedule. Plan, schedule, purchase and coordinate products through complete production cycle, while optimizing inventory levels.
  • Maintain accuracy of assigned data fields within material planning and purchasing areas. Use master data to effectively plan and purchase materials.
  • In Data Management will take ownership for Master Data Management for their respective products and broader supply chain as required.
  • Reviewing requisitions and conferring with departments regarding requirements, specifications, quantity and quality of merchandise, and delivery requirements.
  • Co-ordinate closely with Buyers and suppliers to ensure supply of materials whether internal or external
  • Establish action plans to resolve problems which may delay timely planning, communicate effectively to management, and follow up on their completion
  • Review alerts and MRP on a daily to weekly basis to ensure product availability and optimal inventory levels are being met.
  • Effectively communicate required delivery dates and change order requests with suppliers based on MRP schedule.
  • Have Experience on Business Intelligence reporting
  • Work closely with Operations, Warehouse, Planning and Distribution partners to ensure orders ship on time and in full.
  • Comply with Government, Regulatory and company Policies and Procedures.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs)

  • 2 years Planning in a manufacturing environment, experience in Medical Device Manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP systems experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures
  • Diligent attention to detail and quality of outputs
  • Good knowledge of operational logic and use of MRP, inventory control, production scheduling, purchasing and capacity planning
  • Good communications skills required with the ability to communicate appropriately with all levels
  • Needs good understanding of the manufacturing process (from raw materials to finished product), sound accounting principles, inventory control and paperwork flow necessary to be able to function responsibly in this position.

Education/ Experience Requirements

  • BBA or equivalent experience, APICS certification preferred but not essential
  • 2 years Planning experience in a manufacturing environment, Medical Device experience preferred.
  • Work experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six-sigma preferred but not essential.
