Associate Director, Pharmaceutical Technology

Associate Director, Pharmaceutical Technology Our client a leading pharmaceutical company is recruiting for an Associate Director, Pharmaceutical Technology. As Associate Director, you will be part of the Pharmaceutical Technology (PT) leadership team which in turn reports to the Internal Manufacturing Engineering (IME) organization. This role will manage a team of scientists supporting the Biologics Business looking at technical activities and continuous improvement initiatives. The individual will also develop their own knowledge and ability in this area while working within the team and cross functionally within and outside the site. A broad skill set is required for this role as the site-based group includes engineers, scientists and project management expertise across process, analytical and Bioassay activity. Key Responsibilities

  • Support Marketed products’ process optimization and continuous process verification
  • Lead the team in technology assessments and change implementation to support new and existing biologics products
  • Coach and mentor a team of technical scientific and engineering experts who support the process development, process optimization, technology transfer, and validation of our new and existing biologics products
  • Represent the Pharmaceutical Technology group’s interests on site as well as at senior leadership meetings
  • Partner with site leadership peers in Operations, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain and Science and Technology to ensure process improvements and innovation and optimization are delivered in a collaborative, effective manner
  • Develop your function as a high-performance team ensuring technical and regulatory knowledge is maintained
  • Lead the implementation of data monitoring and management for process and analytical activities and oversee data interpretation and related presentation using applicable statistical software
  • Drive and deliver on performance KPI’s – safety, quality, production and financial

Requirements

  • You will have an MSc / BSc degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, or related Science or Engineering discipline
  • 7+ yrs Pharma R&D and/or Manufacturing Technical Services experience
  • Acute end-to-end experience and understanding of cross-functional roles & responsibilities across the pharmaceutical industry’s development, tech-transfer, and launch phases, including regulatory considerations
  • Strong collaborative analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills across Operations, S&T and R&D
  • Demonstrated project management experience
