Automation Engineer/Technical Project Manager

Our client, a medical device company in Galway are currently looking to recruit an Automation Engineer/Technical Project Manager for their site.

Working as part of the equipment group, the engineer will be accountable for the upgrade and replacement of existing equipment used in manufacturing process. Working from planning stage through to achieving production KPI's on new and upgraded equipment. Generating all relevant documentation, including CE marking and validations. Ongoing support of existing processes in including equipment failure mode reduction on legacy equipment. The role will require a strong; proven track record in similar role.

  • Project management of equipment upgrade projects and the management of all stakeholders expectations
  • Manage external relationships with technology providers / suppliers
  • Ensure that complete and effective validations are carried out on all processes before transferring to manufacture.
  • Identify and put in place permanent and effective technical / system solutions to problems.
  • Researching solutions to existing process problems
  • Maintain high quality / compliance standards in line with Medical Devices manufacturing requirements within our company
  • Ensure goals and objectives are met and understood by effective communication, building an atmosphere of openness, honesty and flexibility with individuals and within the team environment.
  • Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are fulfilled
  • Technical support to production

Required Skills
  • Engineering degree, or equivalent qualification, preferably with minimum of 7 years' experience.
  • Strong technical, hands on background and capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Motivated to work on own initiative and the ability to make and implement decisions.
  • Knowledge of ISO and FDA compliance with emphasis on validation.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems with innovative and cost effective solutions.
  • Excellent working knowledge of equipment and process validation
