Our client, a medical device company in Galway are currently looking to recruit a Buyer I for their site.
The successful candidate will Support Equipment Engineering through sourcing & Management of suppliers.
? Work under the guidance of the Equipment Engineering staff in the selection & ongoing review of our vendor base driving & maximizing cost & efficiency in this area.
? Support the various equipment engineering requirements in the MRO category through sourcing & management of the suppliers.
? Assist in negotiating the commercial agreements in relation to price, quality, delivery and ensuring that these are in line with company objectives and policies. Ensure that suppliers are regularly measured in relation to all aspects of their performance against the agreed measurements.
? Ensuring that short-term MRO requirements supporting production are covered in line with the associated production build plans.
? Ensuring that adequate records of all transactions with suppliers are maintained in line with company policies.
? Ensuring effective inventory management & control in line with company targets.
? Pro-actively looking for and implementing improvement opportunities with suppliers, policy and procedures within Logistics, and participating in continuous improvement across all other internal departments.
? Carry out regular vendor reviews & on site audits where applicable.
? Responsible for the regular review & maintenance of general purchasing contracts with legal & interaction with vendors.
? Be a key player in the ongoing maintenance of the relevant purchasing policies & procedures.
An entry level professional. General knowledge and application of technical and business concepts, procedures, and practices. Interprets company policies and procedures to resolve issues. Beginning knowledge of industry practices and standards.
Applies professional concepts and company policies and procedures, analyzes data or situations, and exercises judgment to recommend solutions to solve problems. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be obtained.
Planning and Organization
Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule with guidance from manager.
Discretion/Latitude Supervision Received; Decision Making:
Receives general supervision. Makes recommendations which may be reviewed by manager. May exercise authority within limits. May seek guidance in resolving problems.
Business Relationships and Project Management
Begins establishing and cultivating internal business relationships to facilitate completion of tasks. May participate in project teams.
Participates in the completion of departmental projects and goals. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally require an expenditure of resources to rectify.
Engages with internal company and occasional external contacts. Uses discretion, diplomacy and tact in interactions.
