Cost Accountant

Our client, a medical device company in Westmeath is currently looking to recruit a Cost Accountant for their site.

Major Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Reconciliation of the sales & cost of sales to the general ledger.
  • Developing and maintaining the standard cost system for current and new products.
  • Responsible for monitoring inventory transaction within Oracle, to ensure they are done on a timely manner and in accordance with the policies and procedures.
  • Assist and give guidance of the correct transaction that should be done.
  • Reconcile inventory balance on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with production and quality in relation to possible inventory write offs.
  • Review production order variances and ensure they are recorded on a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring inventory is counted on a regular basis, and variances are fully investigated.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain in relation to stock control.
  • Ensuring all the SOX controls are implemented and adhered to.
  • Development & implementation of internal financial & operational controls.
  • Assist in development of rolling monthly forecasts.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget process.
  • Evaluating cost reduction initiatives.
  • Deal with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance of audits and statutory requirements
  • Will abide to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Policies and any relevant other EHS documentation.
  • Will comply with all relevant training required and adhere to relevant associated documentation.
  • Follow strict adherence to the requirements of cGMP.
  • Actively contribute to the enhancement of compliance initiatives for areas of responsibility.

Requirements:
  • Fully Qualified Accountant.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in costing in a manufacturing background.

Skills:
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • PC skills with emphasis on Excel spreadsheet, automated accounting and financial planning system.
  • Capable of working on own initiative, and meeting tight deadlines. .
  • Ability to carry out responsibilities to the highest standards ensuring compliance with all financial policies and procedures.
  • The successful candidate will need to be detailed orientated with the ability to take on a broad range of tasks and responsibilities over time.
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
