Facilities Manager Our client a leading MNC is recruiting for a Facilities Manager to join their site in Galway. The scope will include the management of a Facilities Team that are responsible for the cleanroom environmental controls, electrical and mechanical utilities systems, project management and production unit & lab support, admin area and campus infrastructure. Provide focused engineering support for the Facilities Dep on all construction or renovations projects, facility utilities upgrades/retrofits/modernizations and repairs. Support business continuity activities, value improvement projects, lean business processes and manage a variety of sub-contractor companies. To support the site Quality representative to improve awareness, visibility, and communication on quality initiatives and to support departmental, functional, site, divisional and corporate quality goals and priorities. Facilities Engineering Manager with the ability to develop innovative technical solutions while successfully managing key performance indicators to drive strong business results. Key Responsibilities: • Manage negotiations and management of facility maintenance & utilities contracts. • Manage construction projects from programming of requirements through commissioning, validation of rooms and installation of manufacturing equipment • Lead the installation, maintenance and operation of utilities equipment and building controls systems, HVAC equipment, i.e., pumps, boilers, air handling units, air compressors, cooling towers, process gas systems and chillers. • Control the management and oversight of scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance of all facilities equipment on-site. • Manages employees and tradespersons within the Facilities Department. Reviews and evaluates existing programs, services, policies and procedures. • Build strong relationships with the Client, Vendors, Contractors & BIM Design Undertake risk analysis on schedule delivery, priorities & provide solutions. • Prepares and take ownership of departmental budgets, forecasts and present spend monthly. • Responsible for design review, value engineering and construction management. • Responsible for the ISO 50001 system. Manage energy budgets, targets and perform energy audits. Priorities energy projects and implement energy savings opportunities. • Support the Environmental Management System – achieve Carbon Neutral target by 2029. • Track, trend and analyze utility and maintenance data. Negotiate and manage utility contracts. • Monitor’s flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of workload and adherence to facility’s standards and regulations. • Establishes a safe work environment for employees by performing safety audits and inspections, conducting safety-related training, and maintaining on-going communications with employees. • Responsible for team member work performance and prepare and/or review performance evaluations for assigned personnel. • Ensures all direct reports are aware of their commitment to patient safety and product quality, are current with their training requirements and that they understand and comply with all other regulations governing their work. • Establishes a safe work environment for employees by performing safety audits and inspections, conducting safety-related training, and maintaining on-going communications with employees Key Skills Required • Min. HETAC level 8 in degree in facilities management, a related qualification in engineering, management or business studies for example or a relevant professional qualification • Other desirable qualifications may include Certified Facilities Management (CFM) and/or project management (PMP) • A proven track record of successful Facilities Management leadership experience as demonstrated by articulated results and accomplishments • Has managed multiple departments including construction/project management, energy, environmental controls and maintenance • Has established and sustained effective maintenance management system for plant & equipment to support Business Continuity • Has developed and supported a high-performance team • Introduction of systems through effective organisational change management • Must have a proven track record in continuous improvement and problem solving • Is a good communicator and has strong stakeholder management skills • Exceptional customer service, relationship building and communication skills • Ability to lead quarterly and annual business reviews in front of the leadership of the client • Experience working with outside vendors and subcontractors • Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development, innovation and team building • Has strong financial acumen and budget management experience • Strategic thinking in relation to new technologies in the areas of facilities management, sustainability/ circular economy, energy/ CO2 reduction For further information on this Facilities Magare role in Galway please contact Caroline Kingston on 086 8395531/ email@example.com Check out all our open jobs on our HERO Recruitment website – https://www.hero.ie/ Please Note: Under its obligation under the Data Protection legislation, HERO Recruitment will not forward your details to any company without your prior approval.
