IP (Intellectual Property) Coordinator
Our client, an automotive company in Galway are currently looking to recruit an IP (Intellectual Property) Coordinator for their site.

What will I be doing
Invention Disclosure Memos (IDM)
  • Prior art searches on request as part of IDM analysis
  • Reviews with inventors of IDM's
  • Regular patent committee meeting (PCM) preparation
  • IDM matrix analysis (identify areas of low IDM submissions or filing rates and reasons behind this)
  • PCM follow up (provide feedback to the inventors)
  • Brainstorming sessions
  • Training staff on IDM submission process
  • Tracking on Product Line IDM's and first filings on a monthly basis against yearly targets

IP (Intellectual Property) clearance
  • (Each project is required to perform IP (Intellectual Property) clearance before design freeze to ensure the IP (Intellectual Property) in the project is protected and that we are not infringing on patents from other companies)
  • Training o f R&D staff and creating IP (Intellectual Property) awareness
  • Facilitate IP (Intellectual Property) clearance for each function of each project under going IP
  • Reviews with Product Group
  • Support Prior art searches to be performed by R&D staff
  • Review Patent claim charts performed by R&D staff

IP (Intellectual Property) alerts
  • This is a review of all published patent applications over the previous week (worldwide). Once reviewed, the patents are distributed to the function owners of the areas affected by these patents
  • Any relevant patents are placed on a watch list which is to be monitored.
  • Provide training to the engineers on IP (Intellectual Property) detection

What do I need
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years experience working in R&D product development role
  • Good team player with proven ability
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident, articulate, self motivated, determined, energetic
  • Experience in the automotive industry
