Our client, a medical device company is currently looking to recruit a technical support specialist for their site in Galway

Description Able to work independently and in collaboration with the IS Corporate connectivity team. Understands key business processes, understands customer needs and can apply both business and technical knowledge to deliver the best solutions. The IS Connectivity Specialist (EMEA) is responsible for serving as functional and technical leader for clients, including: Installation and troubleshooting of proprietary data management software systems, collaborating with customer IT and data management software vendors for LIS/LIM connectivity projects, EMEA principal customer liaison for connectivity projects, management of 3rd party middleware/data management partner. In addition, the IS Connectivity Specialist (EMEA) will work with users of the specific functional business areas across the company in order to identify, design and implement improvements and efficiencies to existing company business practices and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides functional support to external customers and end users for connectivity and related business applications. Support includes remote and on-site employee training in using functionality of the system, troubleshooting system and user triggered problems and acting as a liaison between IS and functional business users. Assist in improvement initiatives that support business objectives by gathering requirements and translating those into clear and accurate functional and technical specification documents, researches alternatives and determines the best course of action to satisfy the user requirements Works closely with the commercial team to support connectivity related elements of new business contracts. Works with end users on post-project training, issue resolution and documentation to ensure a successful completion to the project. Provides technical support of customer related connectivity issues. Design and document customizations pertaining to process changes Carry out duties in compliance with established business policies including but not limited to the change management process. Establishes a mechanism to measure and continuously improve the quality of key data used within the functional area. Perform activities to support any internal security, compliance and audit requirements. Works closely with the Technical Support and Field Applications team to provide support for connectivity related complaints. INTERACTIONS: This position interacts with all areas and levels of the company, including consultants, vendors and external customers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office based or typical outside sales environment. Must have the discipline, organization skills and self-motivation to work autonomously in a home office environment. Travel will be required to support customers and projects across the EMEA region.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be physically able to travel up to 25%. The travel includes airplane, automobile travel, and overnights. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required, to participate in Sales events, regional, and national meetings. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science or a Business-related field. Equivalent work experience can be substituted
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a corporate IS/IT environment, with at least 3 years of analysis experience in the Medical devices field
  • Possesses strong communications skills with the ability to represent highly complex topics to any level of the organization
  • Collaborative, strong team player. Influences others within the team and across functions to drive results and innovative ideas
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and presentation skills Strong requirements analysis and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of data management and administration principles Knowledge EMR systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems Experience with IS risk documents
