Labelling Engineer

Job Summary
The Labelling Engineer is responsible for:
  • Designing, testing and implementing packaging labels for New Product Development as well as maintenance of existing product lines (sterile, non-sterile)
  • Assisting the label printing processes in operations
  • Leading in a variety of projects and CAPAs
  • Supporting of all activities related to Labelling and
  • Reviewing label designs with packaging configurations
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support and control Global Labelling processes for creating, maintaining, and changing labels.
  • Strong interactions with other Zimmer Biomet sites and departments such as Legal, Trademarks, Packaging, Operations, Development, Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, Sterilization & Biological Evaluation, Post Market Surveillance, Custom Product Department and IT
  • Update of label-related documents
  • Supporting and implementing any kind of product-specific labelling configurations
  • Complies with internal and external requirements and regulations
  • Support of validation and printer qualifications
  • Assist with data management and label data analysis including data entry for MS Office package, or related software programs
  • Support of internal and external audits and inspections (Competent Authority, Notified Body)
  • Identify potential roadblocks, provide proposed solution and escalate to supervisor
  • Track of external standards and regulations applicable to labels
  • Supporting of Post Market Engineering CAPA’s and IE’s pertaining to label issues
Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills and abilities)
  • Good understanding of Labelling Design Element requirements within a regulated industry
  • Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric differences and tolerances
  • Active participation in development meetings with surgeons and key Zimmer Biomet personnel
  • Ability to effectively work within a team to expedite completion of critical project tasks with other functional groups
  • Helping to identify customer requirements for a new product
  • Establishing a process method which meets performance and quality requirements
  • Good communication, precise working methods, teamwork and supporting skills for the Labelling team members is essential
  • Ability to analyze and manage large data sets
  • Ability to work with highest level of accuracy and consistency
  • Programming skills would be advantageous

Education/Experience Requirements
  • B.S. in Packaging Engineering, Computer Science, technical (engineering) or related field plus 1-3 years of experience required
  • Familiar with a variety of office software packages including MS Word, Power Point, Visio, Excel, databases a. Experience in working in a regulated operational environment is a plus
  • Travel Requirements 10% - 15%
