Lean Engineer

Our client, a medical device company in Leitrim are currently looking to recruit a Lean Engineer for their site.

Duties/ Accountabilities:
? Leading Lean implementation, primarily in Clean room 1 & Clean room 2
? Support Lean systems training activities, Kaizen events and visual management throughout the manufacturing areas.
? Implement and maintain MDI boards for all cells
? Execute monthly 5S audits on all assigned cells in a timely manner
? Complete accurate time observation sheets as required
? Conduct line balancing exercises
? Maintain current state value stream maps for key products
? Coach other staff in Lean systems methodologies, teach them to see waste and facilitate structured problem solving (Problem statement, Ishikawa, 5 whys etc.)
? Highlight opportunities for improvement within the clean rooms using the TIMWOOD categories
? Ensure GROWTTH methodologies are adhered to and that GROWTTH and Lean Business becomes ingrained in the company culture.
? Ensure that all changes are implemented in compliance with the QMS, ISO13485 / FDA and other regulatory requirements relevant to the Company.

Required Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
? Third level qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering or Life Sciences
? Qualifications in Lean Systems, preferably Green Belt. If not, extensive experience in implementing waste reduction programs/projects using TQM / JIT or similar programmes. Lean Systems Green Belt must be achieved within 18 months of start.
? Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement methodology (Kaizen, 3P, 5S, SMED, MDI etc.)
? Minimum 2 years? experience in manufacturing, preferably in HealthCare Industry with an extensive knowledge of production and business systems. Alternative is automotive industry with extensive Lean implementation history.
? Experience in Visual Management, 5S and MDI is desirable.
? Comprehensive knowledge of IT business systems including Business systems (preferably IQMS), Quality systems and other computer based systems.
? Excellent communication, training and problem solving skills with high levels of personal drive and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, strong technical acumen.
