Learning and Development Specialist

Our client a world leader in medical devices is recruiting for a L&D Specialist to join their team in Galway. This role is commutable from Mayo and Clare too. The Training and Development Specialist will be responsible for the administration implementation and optimization of development programs for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administration support to our leadership and management development strategies and programs that support the delivery of our business priorities
  • Identify, plan and deliver the site’s professional skills training needs through internal and external training providers
  • Responsible for managing communication of L&D offerings to different populations to drive engagement with initiatives
  • Harness new technologies to support blended learning and self -directed learning
  • Support managers and individuals by providing L&D information, advice, and resources in order to promote a high performing organisation
  • Work collaboratively with external stakeholders, training providers, and bodies establishing the requirement for external solutions to ensure our plans are future-focused and cost-effective
  • Proactively engage with external vendors and training providers to explore new innovative development and learning offerings
  • LMS System admin: Lead the day-to-day operation of the learning management system for professional skills development in compliance with site procedures.
  • Responsible for IDA Training Grant & L&D Budget Management administration
  • Lead and facilitate the New Employee Induction Process
  • Lead and execute on the sites Further Education Process
  • Understand the impact of learning programmes using quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills, and harness those insights to inform L&D strategy.
  • Support the creation, implementation and delivery of a coaching strategy in the organisation
  • Facilitation of learning programmes as required 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of directly related work experience in a Learning and Development Specialist role.
  • Highly proficient in IT skills to include Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and a sense of urgency
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Work well under pressure with a strong sense of urgency
