Manufacturing Engineer

Our Client a Manufacturing Company in Galway are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for establishing processes and methodologies to enable the manufacture of products through all product development phases and support those products once released to manufacturing. Some of these projects include application specific general-purpose servers, general purpose base servers platforms, integration of special purpose PCI cards, software applications, tools and utilities. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for multi-tasking and providing engineering support across multiple products in the Galway site.

Manufacturing Engineer - Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain work instructions for manufacturing test & assembly processes.
  • Provide / fabricate / purchase tools and materials in support of manufacturing & test processes.
  • Build product in support of proving out process methodologies and work instructions including efficiency analysis and labour cost estimates for new products.
  • Provide training to manufacturing for all work instructions and the proper use of tools and fixtures.
  • Initiate, review and implement ECO's for Unicom manufacturing.
  • Design and establish processes & plant lay-out for manufacturing environment.
  • Perform calibration of process equipment per ISO requirements.
  • Perform mechanical rework in support of engineering change orders.
  • Design and implement improvements for critical process parameters.
  • Support Contract Manufacturing activities.
  • Plan and oversee First Article (FA) builds.
  • Support ISO in manufacturing to ensure readiness for certification.
  • Perform root cause analysis of manufacturing and test failures and implement preventive actions in support of improving product yields.
  • Review Bill of Materials (BOM) for ECO sign off.
  • Ensure final products meet requirements specifications and BOM.
  • Authorize and document deviations from the stated process framework.
  • Provide final approval for the release to General Availability of a product.
  • Learns about Company's business as appropriate.
  • Support our activities, ensuring that transfers result in a stable manufacturing process being handed over to the Production function.
  • Provide support to Quality function; analyse root-cause incidents such as quality escapes and put effective solutions in place to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on in-house production software, e.g. Factory/Talk, Great Plains, Agile and Nice Label.
  • All other duties as requested by your Manager.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer Aided Design an advantage.
  • Ability to evaluate, document and educate on required manufacturing operating work instructions, processes and process control plans.
  • In-depth knowledge on generating and processing ECOs and BOMs and how to support ISO procedures.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge/learning about the company's products and services.

Education And/Or Skills / Experience:
  • Industrial / Mechanical / Electronics primary degree.
  • 5 -10 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to compose reports and correspondence.
