The Opportunity
A really great opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join a collaborative and creative Manufacturing Engineering Leadership Team. This role could also be at Senior Manager level depending on experience

Provide overall Manufacturing Engineering Leadership to the Production Unit Organization ensuring that People, Quality, Customer Service and Cost goals are achieved. Work closely with peers in ensuring both alignment on the strategic plan and the achievement of goals in a manner that aligns with both the campus behavioural standards and the company values.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Unit Responsibilities
- Works with the Production Unit Manager and Quality Manager to put in place a strategic plan for the Production Unit.
- Works with Production Unit Manager and Quality Manager to deliver business objectives – lean manufacturing metrics, Value Improvement Projects, cycle time, scrap as a percentage of Value Of Production etc.
- Develops and executes departmental budgets and capital spending.
- Ensures that New Product Introductions are appropriately resourced and a seamless handover from Process Development / Research & Development to Operations occurs.
- Leads cross-functional partnerships to identify and resolve production / engineering issues.
Manufacturing Engineering Team Responsibilities
- Leads and Develops the Manufacturing Engineering Team of Senior Engineers, Engineers and Technicians
- Is a role model for Galway’s Behavioural Standards and continually develops the team utilising leadership skills acquired from the Company’s Leader Development Programmes
- Develops, Champions and Promotes a Strong Safety & Environmental Culture from an Equipment and Behaviours point of view
- Motivates and develops the team by promoting personal development and lifelong learning.
- Ensures equipment (production) capacity is put in place in a timely and effective manner to meet the business requirements of the PU
- Responsible for the departmental fundamentals, including hiring, day-to-day management, project resourcing, etc.
Manufacturing Engineering Function Responsibilities
- Ensures department adherence to regulatory and GMP requirements at all times. Promotes quality and customer satisfaction as a way of life in all department activities.
- Maintains the compliance & validation state of our Manufacturing Lines and ensures they are continually in a state of “Audit Readiness”.
- Advocates a world class-manufacturing team that is proficient in problem solving, manufacturing issues using PSPI tools and Green Belt / Black Belt Methodologies as required

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor Degree (HETAC level 8 240 Credits) in an Engineering discipline
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience with progressive leadership responsibilities
