Manufaturing Engineering Supervisor

Location: Clare

Great opportunity to to be part of a diagnostics manufacturing team where you will supervise engineers and technicians to support operations and engineering

Responsibilities

• Supervise, recruit, hire and evaluate Manufacturing Engineers/Technicians to ensure creation of preventive and corrective maintenance routines for the different manufacturing equipment; implementing and improving automated equipment for manufacturing; analyzing process cycle time, waste, and customer demand to determine if process requires automation; designing tailored automated equipment to maximize productivity; performing six sigma analysis to determine machine capability and performance.
• Supervise Manufacturing Engineers/Technicians to support Operations in driving performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity. Be an active participant in Daily Management activities within Operations; assist with, participate in, and contribute to troubleshooting activities on the manufacturing floor to improve productivity and First Pass Yield.
• Conduct annual reviews, development plans and appraisals of direct reports.
• Support the introduction of new products, new manufacturing processes/systems/procedures and equipment into the facility. Transfer and implement processes from other manufacturing facilities.
• Providing technical leadership on process issues. Establishing technical standards. Leadership of projects to resolve complex technical issues regarding equipment.
• Perform failure analysis, root cause investigation, and implement corrective actions and countermeasures related to customer complaints.
• Direct efforts to ensure that all processes, equipment, materials and methods that are used in the manufacturing of the products are as per requirements and in compliance with good manufacturing requirements and ISO 13485/FDA requirements.
• Liaison with quality and engineering both internal in the plant and externally within the corporation.
• Financial management of spare parts budgets and projects as assigned.

The essential requirements of the job include

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent and/or 5 years engineering experience in an industrial environment. Or Master’s Degree in Engineering with 3+ years’ experience.
• Supervision and Technical Leadership that exemplifies proactiveness and demonstrates an agility with multi-tasking and ability to effectively interact with staff and management alike (transversally collaborative) across functional groups and levels.
• Ability to lead independently, prioritizing tasks according to objectives and company strategy, successfully delivering business results related to the supervision of Operations Engineering activities
• Ability to lead and motivate a team and the workforce, ensuring optimum employee engagement
• Ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks according to objectives and company strategy, successfully delivering business results related to Operations Engineering priorities
• Strong mechanical, electrical manufacturing equipment experience highly desirable.
