Our client, a medical device company in Cork are currently looking to recruit a Planning and Purchasing Manager for their site.
The Supply Planning and Purchasing Manager will be responsible for leading the Planning and Purchasing teams for Cork Recon to ensure satisfaction of Customer demand by producing, monitoring and driving achievable production schedules based on demand, available capacity and resources. Meet defined KPI?s while ensuring the availability of materials within specification, within budget and within the timelines required to support internal production plans, whilst meeting PPV & Inventory targets. Responsibility will cover all Direct Material purchases. Delivery of quality, service and cost, ownership of inventory levels, setting targets and reduction initiatives are key requirements of this role. Will be a key member of the Cork Site Management team.
Key Areas of Responsibility
? Member of Cork Recon Site Management team to deliver on expected site goals & objectives.
? Manage the Cork Recon Planning and Purchasing Teams to achieve their goals and objectives.
? Lead and develop the Planning and Purchasing teams by providing clear direction, setting agreed performance expectations and results, creating a positive team environment ensuring engagement, coaching and development of team members through formal and informal performance and development reviews.
? Develop and implement in conjunction with Recon supply planning processes a robust systemic process which delivers best in class performance and desired outcomes to enable operational excellence.
? Build a monthly S&OP process to align and support operations which integrates into Recon Supply Planning and IBP. Lead the monthly and quarterly Outlook process to agree demand forecast and put to stock plans.
? Develop and implement a robust systemic purchasing process which delivers best in class performance and results.
? Collaborates with Strategic Sourcing to deliver on PPV and service levels
? Overall ownership for Inventory Management of FG & WIP. Work closely with Finance and IBP in terms of setting inventory targets and report regularly on status to target. Identify and implement inventory reduction initiatives. Ownership for safety stock levels.
? Understand capacity analysis tools for each BU, which includes equipment and headcount, and anticipate any over / under capacities.
? Ongoing development of existing metrics and KPI?s.
? Proactively identify report & escalate constraints within the end-to-end Supply Chain which will impact on Customer Service levels.
? Co-ordinate material shortages review process with strategic sourcing ensuring a complete understanding of any impact to the Production plan.
? Ensure master data integrity is maintained in support of Operations
? Represent the ?Voice of the Customer? within the BU / Plant.
? Actively participate in problem solving and process improvement initiatives.
? Ensure the implementation, enforcement and compliance with all the company?s regulatory requirements including Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety.
? Compliance ? ownership for assigned CAPA?s and closure within required timeframe to ensure timely corrective and preventive actions are put in place. Ensure all training requirements are completed within required timeframe. Support internal and external audits as required.
? Process owner for the Planning and Purchasing functions during external and internal audits.
? Represent the Planning and Purchasing function in NPI launches, ensuring availability of FG product to meet agreed launch plans.
? Develop effective relationships with Suppliers that builds mutual respect, trust and drives performance
Qualifications Knowledge Skills
? 3rd level qualification in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management/Logistics, IPICS or other equivalent is required.
? A minimum of five years supervisory/people management experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is essential.
? Knowledge of MRP systems.
? Excellent communication, written and verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
? Excellent knowledge & computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
? Customer focused.
? Ability to influence others.
? Ability to project manage, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
? Strong organisational skills.
? Conservant with company policies/procedures/regulatory and FDA standards.
? Results, goals and metrics orientated.
