Principal Business Process Improvement Leader

As part of the Operational Excellence Team you will lead the site’s efforts to bring best in class operating models and operational excellence to everything they do. The Principal Business Process Improvement Leader will be responsible for leading, deploying, and implementing Lean and Continuous Improvement within their site as well as throughout the business for strategic Operational Excellence initiatives.

The Principal Business Process Improvement Leader needs to be a progressive and passionate change agent focused on achieving measurable and sustainable results through the implementation of Lean and Continuous Improvement, along with having a clear understanding and experience with the Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools (DMAIC, DFMA, DFSS, Value stream mapping, one-piece flow, pull production, and Kaizen events) and ability to lead Lean and Continuous Improvement throughout the site as a coach, teacher, and motivator.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to deploy Lean and Continuous Improvement within assigned site or other sites
  • Develop Workflow Maturity strategy for the site and execute to plans
  • Deployment of the Clients Cost Efficiency Business Process
  • Support Policy Deployment at the site ensuring effectiveness
  • Initiate deployment (A3) activities to ensure that improvement actions are directly linked to the strategic and tactical objectives of our client and the business unit, emphasizing efficiency and effectiveness of business processes, and enabling breakthrough process changes and improvements.
  • Perform value assessments identifying key areas for improvement opportunities.
  • Create improvement plans which meet business goals
  • Coordinate resources to implement plans that result in process changes and improvements with demonstrated business impact.
  • Coordinate, communicate and publicize Lean and Continuous Improvement activities and successes.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement through leading, supporting, and coaching of projects across the end-to-end value streams (from supplier to customer) using Continuous Improvement methodologies (DFMA, DFSS, DMAIC, etc.)
  • Facilitate, train, and teach Lean and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with the business’ Op-Ex Community to share best practices
  • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
  • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control.
  • Communicates team progress.
  • Represents organization as a primary contact for specific projects and initiatives; communicates with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years continuous improvement experience OR
  • Master’s Degree and 5+ years continuous improvement experience
  • Green Belt Certification (or external equivalent)
  • Project Leadership & managerial experience

Nice to Have:

  • Experience coaching and mentoring
  • Black Belt/Master Black Belt Certification (or external equivalent)
  • Lean Enterprise or Toyota Production System experience
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Training Experience
  • Medical Manufacturing Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and cross business
  • Proven ability to reach consensus across groups with different objectives
