Principal EHS Engineer
Our client, a medical device company in Galway is currently looking to recruit Principal EHS Engineer for their site.
Performing projects, management of KPI's for the region, integration of new acquisitions and compliance audits. This role will be based in the EMEA region and will support all EHS&S activities in that region as part of the Global EHS&S Team.
- You will contribute to the provision of leadership and direction for the development and implementation of programs, projects and systems to comply with international and local EHS regulations, Company policies, strategies, initiatives and goals. You will provide technical and management expertise to Medtronic activities and locations including clinical field support, manufacturing and technical services and distribution centers across the EMEA region. You will support the establishment of a comprehensive network across EMEA to establish best practice and shared expertise in the region. You will provide guidance, direction and coaching to EHS and other professionals in the EMEA region on the establishment of programs and systems to minimize employee risk, protect their Health & Safety, minimize Environmental impact and meet the Sustainability objectives of the organization.
- Your remit will include: Infections disease management, Radiation management, manual handling, risk assessments, incident investigation, root cause analysis, emergency response, contractor control, waste management (clinical and hazardous), Industrial Hygiene monitoring Hazardous materials, hazardous drugs, and compliance audits.
- You will provide EHS technical expertise and EHS deliverables for Medtronic employees required to work in hospital settings in addition to technical services, manufacturing and distribution. You will support EHS requirements for new acquisitions, new facilities, consolidations, and expansions, technology transfers between Medtronic sites or contract manufacturers, remediation and/or site closures. You will foster an atmosphere of openness and information sharing in order to encourage a culture of high awareness, transparency and diligence with respect to EHS compliance. Encouraging effective team work through clear communication, training, problem solving and sharing of best practices.
A person with minimum of Level 8 Bachelor Degree in a technical field (Science, Engineering, Nursing, Healthcare, Occupational Health & Safety management etc.) with 7-10 years of relevant experience in healthcare, medical device or related industry.
You are a dynamic team player and leader and can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams. You are experienced in clinical settings, EHS regulations EHS management systems.
You have experience in cultivating a broad network of relationships with key internal and/or external stakeholders. You are a good communicator and fluent in English, both in writing and speaking and a second European language would be greatly desired.
