Our client, a medical device company in Galway are currently looking to recruit a Project Management Manager for their site.
Manages strategic Operations projects aimed at reducing costs, improving product performance and manufacturability, and improving operational efficiency. Projects of this type include (but are not limited to) Product Development Projects (PDP), Value Improvement Projects (VIP), Strategic Business Initiative Projects (StAR).
? Support the implementation of PDP?s, site transfers and major operations projects
? Establishes & develops effective working processes & relationships with various NPD functions, and across different Divisions
? Participates as a key Operations team member within a portfolio of PDP projects and ensures that the new product phase contracts are achieved
? Identifies & implement PLCP VIP solutions within PDP projects
? Estimates project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
? Prepares project plans, schedules and budgets by using project management tools such as Microsoft Project and by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete project.
? Directs project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
? Communicates project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
? Resolves project issues by working with team members, project customers, and others
? Participates in strategic analysis evaluating project opportunities to achieve Operations objectives.
? Participates in external project management organizations, conferences and seminars to keep current with industry best practices in project management by joining professional associations and implementing a professional development plan with focus on project management.
? Assists in initial scoping & business case development for individual projects.
Ensures effective progress is achieved against time, cost & quality benchmarks.
Interfaces with key business stakeholders
? Ensures strong project execution performance through mitigation of project risks.
? Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action
? Demonstrates effective change leadership.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
? Strong experience in project managing significant new product activities that require collaboration with Divisional R&D, Program Management, Regulatory Affairs, Design Assurance, Process Development, Sustaining Engineering and Operations.
? Proven leadership skills in change management and project management
? Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications to project team and all stakeholders
? Must be strong in people management and team building.
? Must be proficient with MS Project.
? BS degree in Engineering/ Technical field (min. HETAC level 8) and a Masters in Project Management would be preferred.
? 4+ years of project management/operations/new product development experience
? Experience with development of medical devices a plus.
