Our client, a medical device company in Tipperary are currently looking to recruit a Project Management Supervisor for their site.
Project Manager of a product or technology development project. Specific responsibilities include business analysis, strategic and operational planning, process improvement, organizational design, and development of new programs.
? People Management: Manages small cross-functional development teams (with assistance); leads teams effectively; provides input to functional managers on team and team member performance.
? Product/Technology Management: Manages the technical challenges of technology application and new product development; identifies, communicates, and manages low levels of technical risk.
? Project/Program Management: Manages key initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes; develops (with assistance) and implements project plan; builds team ownership and commitment to project plan.
? Process Management: Implements TDP/PDP; leads team to complete activities to current policies and practices; keeps documentation organized, creates Scaling Plan and Design History File for the project.
? Communications and Reviews: Responsible for team and cross-functional communications; liaison between the team and the PIB; leads (with assistance) phase and business reviews, project meeting minutes, issues log, metrics, and other key communications.
? May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.
? Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
? May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.
? Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
Job Scope and Leveling Guidelines
? Scope: Accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision of support and entry level professional employees. Monitors progress toward departmental goals; monitors costs of projects and human and material resources within a department or unit. Receives task-oriented work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies.
? Supervision Received: Works under general supervision. Receives limited supervision on standard issues, and detailed instructions on new assignments. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall quality, efficiency and accuracy.
? Supervision Provided: Provides direction and guidance to predominantly support and entry level professional personnel; assigns tasks, checks work at frequent intervals and maintains schedules. Evaluates performance of and assists in career development planning for subordinates.
? Job Complexity: Works on issues of limited scope. Follows established practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Monitors daily operations of a unit or sub-unit. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.
? Policy Involvement: Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees. Develops and/or identifies new work processes and the improved utilization of human and material resources within the assigned area or related departments.
? Operations Involvement/Direct Work Involvement: Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required.
? Bachelor's degree 5-9 years of related work experience with a broad understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
? Excellent Project Management background and prior experience leading a project through to completion. Experience using MS Project is a distinct advantage. Advanced degree preferred.
? Certified PMI Project Management Professional advantageous. The role is a senior level position. Experience in Medical device product development, and familiarity with FDA Design Control Guidelines.
? Strong interpersonal skills. Comfortable working with all levels in an organization.
? Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, meeting business expectations. Must be proficient in both written and oral communication skills. Experienced with Microsoft Project and Office.
? As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the technical project management of multiple, complex, multi-disciplinary, and geographically dispersed design, deployment and development projects. To succeed in this position you will need extensive experience and expertise in both technical and project management functions relevant to large-scale product development projects. Works under minimal supervision and independently develops solutions to multiple issues and objectives within the group.
