Our client, a medical device company in Galway are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager for their site.
Manage Production Line Transfer Projects to deliver robust manufacturing lines to the receiving site. The position will report to the Plant Manager and will support line transfers from and into Galway.
Lead cross functional project teams to deliver transfer projects against agreed milestones.
Ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget according to business requirements.
Partner with customers, suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.
? Manage/lead the overall project to deliver on time and in budget, plus deliver other pre agreed measures of success. This includes responsibility for schedule and resource planning, cost control, capital expenditure, quality, and safety.
? Responsible for overall transfer and ramp to pre agreed targets working closely with the core operations groups.
? Leads the cross functional Project Team: organizes and distributes the work, assign tasks, gives orientations, defines priorities, holds the weekly Project Team meeting.
? Actively contributes to the project activities through completion of tasks as a core team member as well as project management/leadership activities.
? Coordinate all aspects of the customer relationship for the duration of the project, including all customer interaction and expectations.
? Minimise project risk for both the customer and the company: with the project team, anticipates, acts quickly and decisively to mitigate the general project risks and to solve the issues. Proactively seeks information, support, and expertise within the organization when appropriate.
? Lessons learned management: ensures the lessons learned on previous projects are constantly incorporated.
? Drive project improvement activities using statistical techniques, lean manufacturing tools, Six Sigma, design experimentation for process and equipment, to achieve targets and manufacturing costs.
? Champion compliance to systems and processes
? Drive a data driven culture and effective problem solving approach.
? Manage internal stakeholder expectations including revenue and profitability projections
? 5+ years? experience of technical project management preferably in the medical device industry.
? A degree in related field e.g. engineering or equivalent.
? Must be available for assignment to destination / origination site for up to 3 months
? Experience of production transfers, process product validation.
? Experience in customer communications and working with external stakeholders
? Operations management experience an advantage
? A proven track record in delivering major projects.
? A strong background in DFM / six sigma / lean, with excellent problem solving skills and root cause analysis an advantage.
? A strong background in both metals and/or plastics processing an advantage.
? Excellent communicator with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
? Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
? Ability to make and drive decisions within the Project Scope based on cross functional input
