Project Engineer (Pharmaceutical)
The position will entail supporting internal project design, construction, commissioning, and handover while providing project engineering and management support for a number of site-based capital process, utility, and facilities projects.
The role’s primary responsibilities will be supporting and coordinating conceptual and detailed design, managing the project budget and schedule, managing project resources and contractors, acquiring equipment, and liaising with the Maintenance, EHS, Quality, and Operations Depts.
• Supporting all stages of capital projects, from conception to implementation and close-out, will be one of the responsibilities. Support the project schedule, budget, commissioning, and qualification phases.
• Assist in preserving a good safety culture and performance when carrying out major projects.
• Assist in making sure projects are successfully completed and fulfill corporate needs. Deliver projects that are affordable while adhering to our best practices and project management standards.
• Establishing and preserving cooperative connections with stakeholders.
• Find engineering design strategies that are efficient and cutting-edge and satisfy project clients’ and end users’ needs. Plan and support the delivery of projects which meet all regulatory requirements including safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Ensure that equipment qualification activities are completed in line with site procedures, cGMP and best practices.
• Develop and improve new and existing standards within the engineering department improving the service offered to clients/end-users
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with demonstrated capability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization is required.
• Create and manage project schedules for planning and monitoring project activities throughout the project’s lifecycle.
• The basic qualifications for candidates are a bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, or process) and at least three years of project engineering experience in the pharmaceutical sector.
• Ideally experience at an API manufacturing site (e.g. experience with piping systems, drying systems, reactors, centrifuges, vacuum, heat/cooling systems etc.)
