Purchasing Assistant

Our client, a company in Galway are currently looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant for their site.



What will I be doing
  • Ensuing purchase orders are received within required time frames
  • Managing and reducing excess inventory levels
  • Reviewing returns and damaged goods
  • Working to agreed time scales and deadlines
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors
  • Delivering both high quality and cost effective solutions
  • Monitor the supply performance of vendors


What do I need
  • Experience working in a purchasing and or logistics role
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or business is preferable
  • Strong organisational and administration skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good computer skills (MS Office), SAP or other ERP system experience highly desirable
  • Flexible and pro-active attitude with a desire for excellence
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
