The R&D Engineer II position in Limerick involves working under the Senior R&D Engineer or R&D Manager. The role entails design development, prototyping, testing, evaluation, risk management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The engineer will lead assigned R&D projects, ensuring timely completion of milestones, and contribute to innovation through patent filings. Regular communication with cross-functional teams, senior management, and business unit leaders is essential.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• A third level degree in a related discipline 4 years of medical device design experience
• Experience in DHF documentation for medical devices (DFMEAs, protocols, reports, DIVTs)
• Class III medical device design experience (stent & delivery systems, thrombectomy or atherectomy devices)
• Design documentation skills
• Project planning skills CAD knowledge (Solidworks and/or Pro Engineer)
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness and availability to travel on company business
• Knowledge of medical device quality & regulatory systems and medical device directives (ISO13485 and FDA CFR 820), EU Medical Device Regulation 2017/745.
