SAP Lead
Our client, a medical device company in Galway are currently looking to recruit a SAP Lead for their site.

Key Responsibilities
  • E2E Ownership of SAP development projects including Interfaces & Enhancements
  • Develops new application software and/or interfaces between applications
  • Creates and maintains system documentation according to the IT methodology (proposals, designs, test specifications, and other deliverables as necessary)
  • Participates in all phases of the software development project including: buy off the shelf versus build custom analysis, vendor selection, design, construct, implementation, testing, and post-implementation activities
  • Accountable for technical issue resolution including diagnosis of problem, recommendations for workarounds, and defect correction
  • Maintains collaborative working relationship with IT project teams, IT services (database, data center, servers, desktop, networking, security), and software vendors, as needed
  • Researches and applies new technologies, development techniques and best practices by leveraging experience, industry contacts, seminars, and books
  • Leverages software version control tools and provides software configuration management support
  • Works closely with the project team (internal and external) to assure a timely solution
  • Adheres to project plans, tasks, and deliverables; identifies dependencies and resource requirements
  • Appropriately communicates project status, escalates issues, and manages timelines and action items
  • Assists in implementing policies and procedures to facilitate efficient operations
  • Peer review other developers code for logic, best practices, and coding standards
  • Mentor and coach more junior resources
Management Responsibilities
  • Collaboratively perform across different work groups and divisions towards the achievement of organizational goals
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 10+ years' experience in SAP ABAP development, including working knowledge of SAP script, SMARTFORMS, coding functions, user exits, Screen painter, Menu Painter, custom table creation and maintenance, SNOTE, CMOD, SMOD, using oss1 to research and locate SAP notes to fix problems
  • Previous experience as a leading member of a large enterprise SAP Development Team with assignments in all phases of the software life-cycle (requirements, design, construct, test, support) and have strong skills in documenting work
  • Working knowledge of Batch Scheduling applications (Autosys)
  • Familiar with SAP programs/transaction to create sales orders, purchase orders, transfer orders, deliveries and billing documents
  • Working knowledge of SAP Job Creation and Selection transactions (SE36 & SE37)
  • Working knowledge of SAP IMG and basic SAP configuration tasks
  • Experience working on interface projects where data was transferred into or out of SAP using BAPIs, BDC Sessions, IDOCs or direct database to database methods
  • General knowledge of computer network components (servers, routers, printers) and data communication methods
  • Proven ability to quickly troubleshoot issues in SAP programs using a sound and logical approach to deliver a valid solution
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people in other areas across the enterprise (geographical and functional) to accomplish desired outcomes
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems of diverse scope and complexity
  • Demonstrates a broad knowledge of a variety of alternatives and their impact on the business unit
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational & time management skills
  • Experience documenting and developing w/in a regulated industry
  • Supply Chain, Planning, and/or Distribution beneficial
  • Experience with Medical Device or Life Sciences beneficial
