Senior Process Development Engineer

Our client, a medical device company in Cork are currently looking to recruit a Senior Process Development Engineer for their site.

  • Establish technology development plans, goals and timelines
  • Identify new technology platforms, evaluate existing internal technologies
  • Establish internal and external teams and technology review board
  • Conduct Design of Experiments and document results and recommendations.
  • Lead technical reviews with advisory board and internal sponsors.
  • Finalize technology plans and delivery test prototypes.
  • Validate concepts and plan final reviews and transfer to PDP team.

  • Finalize Voice of technology
  • Link technology transfer to design input
  • Participate in developing prototypes, process and equipment to support small and large volume manufacturing.
  • Provide inputs to product design team and identify application standards.
  • Participate in DOE?s and maintain records.
  • Provide inputs to product and design verification and validation plans.
  • Lead / Co-lead process verification and validation including IQ, OQ and PQ
  • Lead / co-lead design transfer to manufacturing.
  • Provide sustaining support post product launch.
  • Compile documents to meet al Quality, regulatory, PLCP based SOP requirements.
  • Is acknowledged as a subject matter expert in a relevant technical field and influences associated site-wide technology planning.
  • Is a significant contributor to operational performance improvement through identification and implementation of major CIP?S, application of advanced problem-solving techniques and access to a corporate-wide technical resource base.
  • Successfully completes engineering work in one or more of the following: technology development, product design and development, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigation (animal and clinical studies), and report preparation.
  • Provides guidance to product and technology teams.
  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of alternative engineering processes, products, or equipment.
  • Coordinates, manages, and documents project goals and progress and recommends appropriate revisions.

  • Interfaces with Physicians/Cath Lab personnel to identify needs and to obtain feedback on concepts and performance of new devices and to translate customer needs into product concepts.
  • Develops and coaches others on engineering documentation.
  • Trains and/or provides work direction to technicians and less experienced engineers.
  • Supports teamwork and staff development through a commitment to mentoring and technical leadership.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of manufacturing impact on product performance as perceived by the customer.
  • Build Quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

Education Requirements:
  • Degree or Masters in relevant Engineering or Science discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic, Production etc).
  • Minimum of 3+ years? experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good leadership abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong technical capabilities and project management capability to develop aspect of assigned projects on time and within budget.
