Software Developer – Backend

My technology client based in Galway are looking for a backend developer to join their production team.

It can be worked in a hybrid manner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team; the ideal candidate should have 4+ years commercial experience in design and development of backend services in a production environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain services.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to design and implement scalable and maintainable backend solutions.
• Write automated tests and ensure high-quality code through continuous integration and deployment.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance and scalability issues.
• Ensure that security and data protection requirements are met.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of development experience.
• Experience of Python will be highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with TypeScript/Javascript is a plus.
• Experience in developing serverless architectures (Google Cloud Functions / Cloud Run or similar).
• Knowledge of data processing frameworks such as Apache Beam / Apache Spark.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and algorithms.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and continuous integration and deployment tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
