Our client, a medical device company in Galway are currently looking to recruit a Software Development Engineer for their site.
As a key member of the IT and Global Engineering teams you will work closely with cross functional (Engineering, IT, Quality, Supply Chain) teams and vendors to design, build and automate shop floor applications. You will also collect and report on key metrics from MES and scada systems.
? Develop, automate and support shop floor applications globally using .net and MS SQL Server
? Collect and design HMI screens to report key metrics on the company?s MES system.
? Work with cross functional teams on projects to design shop floor applications
? Trace, diagnose and fix software faults as they arise.
? Document all shop floor modifications on the MOC system
? Ensure business application systems for shop floor functions are developed to comply with architectural standards and established methodologies.
? Support the implementation of key projects globally as required.
? A Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training with at least 3 years relevant experience.
? Java & python development science.
? Experience in developing multi-tiered projects for shop floor operations specifically related to SQL, .NET and SCADA statistical and reporting systems.
? Experience in packaging automation using RFID and Cognex industrial cameras and designing HMIs between .net and PLCs.
? Proven track record in IT design methodologies, architecture and techniques related to shop floor equipment and interfacing systems.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain the most complex technical problems to a wide audience.
? A self-starter with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
? Influence decisions and actions
? Ability to travel globally in order to support and implement projects.
? .NET development
? Scada and data collection
? MES experience
? T-SQL in MS SQL Server 2006 onwards
? PLC interfacing knowledge (Allen Bradley)
? SATO thermal printer knowledge
