Supplier Quality Engineer II (Hybrid)
An exciting opportunity has become available due to business growth with our Medical Device Client in Galway. They are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team on an initial 23 month basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Team Member on Teams comprising representatives from Purchasing, Supplier Quality and Business Units responsible for all aspects of Supplier Management.
- Demonstrates Technical skills in Commodity/Category Management.
- Responsible for supporting objectives of the Team in terms of Quality, Cost and Service.
- Supports Continuous Improvement of Quality & Quality Systems, Service Capability and Total Cost of Ownership throughout the Supply Chain.
- Supports investigation of Quality issues as they arise. Works with Quality, Procurement & Business Units to resolve issues.
- Promotes the Quality System within the Supply Base.
- Works with Procurement, Global Sourcing, Various Company Departments (such as calibration, Labeling, Warehousing/Logistics, Labs) & Business Units/Project Teams to ensure that service suppliers meet established requirements.
- Ensures that adequate Supplier Corrective Actions are identified, implemented and controlled by Suppliers
- Provides guidance to other functional areas in applying Supplier Management system requirements
- Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvement of Supplier Management Policies and Procedures.
- Communicates effectively with all Internal & External Stakeholders. • Develops new Supply sources with the Global Sourcing, Procurement & Project Teams
- Leads Supplier Audits of service suppliers – travel estimated to be ~ 20% – 30%
- Manages the Approved vendor List for Service Suppliers
- Identifies, Supports and Leads Material Value Improvement Projects (VIP’s) throughout the Supply Chain.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering/Technology
- 4+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or service provider environment or equivalent with direct experience in a quality assurance environment.
- Experience in the medical device industry is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 17025 is an advantage
- Experience in Supplier Control/Management activities is an advantage.
