Our client, a leading medical device company based in Cork, are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to support projects within the global IT Windows server infrastructure team.
What will I be doing?
? Managing and supporting server equipment to ensure the highest level of performance.
? Actively participating in the planning, development and implementation of the installation of local and/or remote server equipment.
? Monitoring, operating, upgrading and maintaining local and/or remote server equipment ensuring availability and protection of server equipment.
? Working with universal infrastructure teams to assist in the management and maintenance of Storage, Network, Telecommunications, UNIX Server and Security infrastructure on site.
? Maintenance collaborative working relationship with IT services and software vendors, as needed.
? Leading and participating in the installation, testing, upgrading (both software and hardware) and retirement of server equipment. ? Designing, executing and monitoring server equipment backups to ensure company data and applications are safeguarded and can be restored.
? Implementing continuous improvements to ensure server equipment is preventively maintained, running properly and protected from computer viruses and other possible security threats.
? Creating and maintaining all required technical documentation per IT methodology and processes.
What do I need?
? A third level degree in Computer Science or related field.
? 5+ years? experience in a Windows Server Administration role.
? 2+ years? experience working with customers designing and architecting solutions.
? Experience with Active Directory, SCCM, SCOM and VMware technologies.
? Experience with PowerShell Scripting is desirable.
? Basic experience with the following technologies is desirable:
- NetApp\EMC & HP Storage infrastructure.
- Cisco networking & Avaya telecommunications solutions.
- IBM AIX & Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system.
? Previous experience as a leading member of a large Windows server organization.
? Ability to quickly troubleshoot issues using a sound and logical approach to deliver a valid solution.
? Ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
? Demonstrates a broad knowledge of a variety of alternatives and their impact on the business unit.
? Previous experience with Medical Device beneficial.
