Technical Sales Manager – Field Based
Our client, a medical technology company in Galway is currently looking to recruit an Technical Sales Manager for their site. This is a field based role. The core objective of this role is to support the business in achieving its revenue goals and objectives through focused business planning and sales.
Reporting to the Commercial Director

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Prepares sales forecasts and participates in the identification of market potential and strategically plans target clients as appropriate
  • Monitors individual and company sales performance on an ongoing basis initiating corrective action as required
  • Builds and develops key relationships with customers
  • Integrates sales targets and target customer profiles into a broader sales plan
  • Responsible for revenue and sales budgets
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a plan to target new customers and develop business with existing customers
  • Maintains knowledge of the industry, market and competition, continually building the industry, the market and competitive landscape via an in-depth creative analytic approach
  • Visit customers and / or potential customers on a regular and planned basis to promote the services to achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets
  • Ongoing technical training to support with sales activity
  • Analyse and report sales activity, the market and business feedback monthly, quarterly and yearly by using all available support tools
  • Researches/attends and/or visits local, national and international tradeshows, conferences etc.
  • Initiates or maintains work schedule and priorities
  • Establishes and cultivates a wide range of business relationships to facilitate completion of assignments
  • May interact with key suppliers in order to understand full value chain
  • Participates in determining goals and objectives for the department

Education & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Business/Engineering/Marketing (not limited to the named disciplines)
  • Minimum of 5 Years Selling experience in Medical Device/Pharmaceuticals/Biotech (preferably in a B2B environment)
  • Technical Sales experience in the Medical Device B2B Design and Contract Manufacturing space desired
  • Strong Organisational, Presentation, Negotiation and Selling Skills
  • Strategic Thinking and Decision Making
  • Relevant Industry Knowledge
  • Flexibility required for travel (local, national & international)
  • Full Clean Driving License
