As leaders in our industry, we have strong ethical values and a community focused ethos. We were the very first recruitment company in Ireland to become carbon neutral, something we are very proud of. We believe we don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. We were shortlisted by the NRF for our contribution and commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.
HERO Recruitment is all about building a community, in the office, with our clients and with the wider community around us. That is why each year we are not just contributing to society but taking part. Being involved and taking part is what life is all about and we want our team to be involved in events that will help make life better for everyone around us.
We contribute to further education through partnering with CIPD, scholarship programmes, career advice workshops to students, and donate our time to the NUIG expert panel as well as consultation with the GMIT on course content of new programmes.
HERO is very focused on education and assisting in improving resources for primary level education. Through fundraising, donations, spot prizes, raffles/draws and of course participating in events such as “Back To School Runs” we are able to be actively engaged with these causes.
Through community involvement, we have been able to provide a platform to offer work experience to 2nd level, 3rd level and mature individuals returning to work. A positive outcome from the work placement programme is identifying star talent.
The HERO Community extends far beyond the office and has included our involvement with the following:
Galway Hospice, the HERO team participated in the annual Croagh Patrick climb; the Great Ethiopian run, the biggest road race in Africa with over 36,000 participants, fund raising for the National Rehabilitation Hospital raising €25,000, donations to individual causes, major world crises’, including Nepal and the ongoing humanitarian crisis for the Syrian refugees.
Sponsorship of events true to our employees’ hearts really engage our team also. We have sponsored their local schools, their local over 40’s soccer club with jerseys, the Colga football club, the Mayo Gaelic Masters Association, Galway Hospice and NRH. The HERO team volunteered for the annual Croagh Patrick climb each year, participated in the Great Ethiopian run and the Runamuck challenge.
At Christmas we support Croi, local Secret Santa and Vincent De Paul. Both directors have contributed to Operational Smile and Unicef for the past 10 years.
