German company phenox GmbH is to establish a medical device manufacturing facility in Galway, creating up to 65 jobs over five years.
Phenox Ireland Ltd. will manufacture interventional neurovascular medical devices for the treatment of aneurysms and stroke. The company’s products are used by endovascular specialists for the interventional treatment of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke and include mechanical thrombectomy devices, flow diverters and bifurcation aneurysm implants as well as access and support devices.
The company is locating its new facility at the Kamrick Court Building in Ballybrit Business Park, Galway and will complete a customised fit-out to enable the commencement of operations in early 2016. The Galway facility will significantly enhance the company’s existing product development and manufacturing location in Bochum
