What Should I Do With My Life?
What Should I Do With My Life? Who’s not asked this question before! Thinking of entering the engineering profession? Are you considering job opportunities along the R&D, Quality Engineering or Science at the moment? Maybe we can help.
Deciding on what direction regarding job opportunities to pursue can be confusing. This may help, I think it comes down to asking yourself a few questions…
Now day’s graduates once conferred often take the skies and venture off on travels far and exotic places, exactly what I did! However in their travels roaming around the world, a common questions pops up, “What should I do with my life?” What is the right job opportunity for me?
To answer this one way, is to urge people to conduct what they call an “Area of Destiny” analysis. Very simply, an AOD analysis impels people to seek a career at the intersection of two questions and their answers: What am I uniquely good at? And what do I love doing?
It is all good saying you should pursue a career in doing what you want but realistically as the pressures of today’s world impede on you, you need to be realistic. There’s no point chasing a career that no one will pay you for. Right?
I think it’s also important to consider the question: What kind of skills are in demand?
Right now there are a huge number of Quality Engineering jobs and Science job opportunities nationwide in Ireland and internationally. I am constantly seeing the expansion of Irish companies and multinationals MNC who are looking for these specific skills in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, R&D Engineers and Science jobs. Is it something you’d love doing and am I uniquely good at it?
If the answer is Yes…. then there has never been a better time than now to review jobs in Engineering & Science Sector.
If an Engineering or Science job is something you consider yourself to have talents in, and you could imagine enjoying this career choice there is no doubt jobs in Science and Engineering are bountiful!
Whatever job opportunities you decide to pursue, I think the key is…. stop worrying about making a mistake! Careers are filled with wrong turns, or as I would rather describe them, “learning curves.” And look, in some ways, “What should I do with my life?” is a question you should never stop answering. The world changes; you change. Feel the fear and do it anyway.
One thing I know I’m good at and I love is finding people great job opportunities! If you’re interested in knowing your options regarding jobs in Ireland please give me a call. I’d love to help.
Now enough from me, let’s hear about you!
