What Does A Design Engineer Do?
With technical, mathematical and design expertise, design engineers are well placed to create cutting edge solutions for a range of projects. These professionals work across a wide range of sectors. These include but are not exclusive to the construction, medical devices, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. They are involved from the initial concept and design of a project right through the development and management.

What Will I Be Responsible For?
This role is varied and you’ll be expected to work across many departments. On a daily basis you will be communicating with clients, colleagues and contractors to ensure successful project delivery. You will need to have the ability to write technical reports and simplify scientific principles for non-engineering personnel.

You will be able to use computer-aided design (CAD) & computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. These software systems will allow you to design and manufacture prototypes and finished products. As a qualified design engineer, you will analyse existing projects to identify areas of improvement as well as deliver tenders to new projects. As an engineering professional you will be able to effectively manage projects and deliver them on time, to budget and per spec.
