Your Impact in this Role:

As an EHS Engineer within the Health Care Business, you'll have the opportunity to explore your curiosity and collaborate with diverse professionals worldwide. You'll make a significant impact by:

Project Management:

  • Initiating and completing activities leading to new or improved safety methods with significant potential impact at the project level within your assigned area of responsibility.
  • Participating in training, audits, incident reporting, assessments, Global Safety and Health Plan (GSHP) program development, and safety projects.
Communication:
  • Building a network of support within facilities, manufacturing, engineering, and warehousing teams to facilitate the completion of assignments.
  • Providing safety consulting services on task-oriented programs.
  • Analyzing and reporting key health and safety data to senior-level colleagues and collaborating with management to define project parameters and develop corrective plans.
Leadership:
  • Leading all activities related to Risk Management by managing the site risk assessment schedule and driving continuous improvement to reduce risks on-site.
  • Potentially leading teams within the assigned business unit, providing technical assistance and guidance to others.
  • Establishing processes related to Management of Change to ensure EHS requirements are considered for all new projects, effectively communicating the process, and regularly reviewing it across the site.
Corporate Initiatives:
  • Cultivating an EHS excellence culture by promoting and supporting the site's sustainability and environmental management program.
  • Developing a working knowledge of key corporate initiatives and supporting business units and EHS Champions in interpreting and understanding EHS requirements through the Tier Board process, while monitoring compliance with EHS programs.
Your Skills and Expertise:

To excel in this role, our client seeks candidates with a strong background and/or the following qualifications:

  • EHS Degree/NEBOSH General Certificate preferred or a similar safety qualification.
  • A strong understanding and implementation of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements is essential.
  • Engineering skills/qualifications are advantageous.
Additional qualifications that could enhance your success include:
  • Experience with innovative occupational health, well-being, and behavioral programs such as Mental Health First Aid is advantageous.
  • At least 2-3 years' experience, ideally in a busy manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical environment.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills. 

Work Location:

Role Location: Athlone, Ireland.

Travel: Some travel is expected.

Salary: Competitive, depending on skills and experience, plus an excellent benefits package.
