Finance: Where Science Meets Human Touch in Ireland

"Finance is only an exact science until a human touches it. How you handle your money reflects who you are."

While budgeting is a highly individual and personal aspect of our daily lives, our financial needs are fundamentally universal. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, a renowned psychological theory, beautifully encapsulates this universality.

According to Maslow, our needs span across various categories, including "physiological," "safety," "belongingness," "love," "esteem," "self-actualisation," and "self-transcendence." And let's not forget the modern essential of Wi-Fi, which could arguably warrant its own standalone category! Similarly, the banking sector has its own hierarchy of customer needs, which can be classified into three main sections: "security," "movement," and "performance."

In today's world, the security of our chosen financial institutions takes top priority, and it is only natural that we seek stability and trustworthiness in this regard.

However, I am concerned that our expectations regarding financial "performance" are gradually diminishing, and it may be time for some form of reform. What are your thoughts on this matter?

As we navigate the intricate realm of finance, it is important to recognize the interplay between scientific principles and human influence. While finance may strive to be an exact science, it is ultimately shaped by the individuals who interact with it. The decisions we make regarding our money reflect our values, priorities, and aspirations.

So, whether you are budgeting for your basic needs or striving for financial growth, remember that finance is not a rigid formula but a dynamic field influenced by human behavior and choices.

Let us explore the possibilities and consider how we can strike a balance between the scientific foundations of finance and the personal touch that makes it uniquely human. Together, we can shape a financial landscape that meets our individual and collective needs in Ireland.
