Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, testing, and implementation of control system software modifications, accompanied by comprehensive documentation, for validated manufacturing systems. Additionally, offer operational support for automation-related challenges in production lines.

Role and Primary Tasks:

  • Analyze, comprehend, troubleshoot, and modify automation software.

  • Organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks efficiently within tight schedules, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion.
  • Display high levels of self-motivation.
  • Provide clear and accurate documentation of work.
  • Communicate effectively and offer technical expertise.
  • Evaluate and identify opportunities for the enhancement of new or improved tools for process improvement activities.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail.
  • Provide training and mentorship to less experienced staff.

Key Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business, strategic direction, overall organizational goals, and individual user needs.
  • Design machine control systems, integrating servo motion and high-speed devices.
  • Develop, test, and install PLC and control software in a highly automated, high-volume 24/7 validated production environment.
  • Formulate User, Functional, and Detailed Design Specifications.
  • Generate high-quality PLC and HMI code based on Functional and Detailed Design Specifications.
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Participate in project teams, offering technical support and making informed decisions on hardware and architecture selection.
  • Lead the Automation team within a project, delivering robust technical solutions within project timelines.
  • Propose ideas and solutions for the improvement and development of control systems.
  • Diagnose issues in complex automation equipment.
  • Uphold comprehensive documentation standards for code, adhering to Medical Device guidelines.
  • Embrace and promote a strong cultural Credo-based code of conduct.
  • Ensure effective closure on Quality System documentation and non-conformance/corrective and preventive action (NC/CAPA) actions.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks efficiently within tight schedules.

Skills, Abilities, and Education Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Accumulate 5 to 6 years of experience working with automated control systems as part of a machine design team.
  • Demonstrate a robust PLC background, particularly in Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000, Allen Bradley Guard Logix, APT, Siemens S7, Elau, Pilz Safety PLCs, and Wonderware Intouch/ArchestrA, FactoryTalk View HMI software.
  • Additional proficiency in Servo Motion Control, printer systems, vision systems, robotics, BCR, data analytics, and RFID systems would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with working in a validated environment and a strong commitment to change control discipline.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, planning, prioritization, oral, and written communication skills.
