Sustainability Manager

As a Sustainability Manager in our Galway site you will work with cross-functional teams to drive the Sustainability Program companywide. With the ever-changing global environmental regulations, you will be tracking company and product sustainability efforts including Environmental, Societal and Governance (ESG) initiatives across multiple Engineering locations.   

 Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in agreeing the relevant SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) for the company
  • Track SDG KPI’s and work together with other compliance efforts to ensure that products and services are compliant with global environmental regulations and customer requirements.
  • Identify sustainability risks and appropriate mitigation measures
  • Highlight any opportunities to increase the organisations sustainability credentials
  • Collect and collate qualitative and quantative data to help communicate and support sustainability goals
  • Review supply chains for a sustainability perspective
  • Provide updates & interpretations of ESG regulatory requirements to functional departments to ensure compliance.
  • Perform product reviews and respond to inquiries with regard to Sustainability and Governance.
  • Write procedures, develop forms, and make sure that they are followed and have a closed loop.
  • Interface with customer’s and business partners ESG teams.
  • Develop position statements with regards to Sustainability.
  • Provide employee training on related topics, policies, or procedures.
  • Be the sustainability champion / SME and promote a positive culture of sustainability in the organisation
  • Provide assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews (1SO14001 for example)
  • Prepare management reports regarding Sustainability operations and progress.
  • Provide input during the budget planning process on all expected expenses.
  • Learn about Company’s business as appropriate.
  • Show up to work on time and attend work as scheduled.
  • All other duties as requested by supervisor or department head.

 Requirements

  • Experience in high tech electronics industry
  • BSc Degree, preferably in a Sustainable/ ESG /scientific discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Sustainable/ ESG role.
  • Good understanding of low carbon building solutions
  • Good understanding of the circular economy
  • Working knowledge of product configuration management practices (BOMs, specifications, ECR/ECO/MCO, and part numbers.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across various functional groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent spreadsheet application skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office -Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Ability to follow all applicable Business Management System (BMS) processes.
  • Experience in managing Sustainability projects
  • Ability to read, write and speak English. 
  • Ability to compose reports and correspondence. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use electronic office tools
  • Knowledge of basic addition, subtraction, division and multiplication of numbers is required.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Follow established company core values.
